Brianna and Matthew’s engagement session was genuinely (to date!) one of the most fun engagement sessions I have ever shot! The historic downtown of Fort Myers, Florida was the perfect backdrop. These two are passionate and free-spirited, which made my job shooting their engagement session in crowded downtown a breeze. I could not get enough of this couple!
Their Love Story
Matthew is a sheriff officer and Brianna is a firefighter/paramedic in Southwest Florida. Their paths crossed while on the job saving lives and they became friends first. After some convincing, Brianna agreed to go on a date with Mattew and she says, “it was the best decision she ever made!”
After dating for a few years, Matthew proposed on a beach in Lido Key, so Brianna knew that a downtown city theme was perfect for their engagement shoot. I worked closely with Brianna to bring her vision to life! She likes flash photography with an old-school feel. She shared Pinterest boards and outfit ideas with me ahead of time(which was so helpful!), but ultimately they trusted me to bring their images to life with my own creativity and flair. I so appreciate this in my couples!
Downtown Fort Myers Modern Engagement Photos
Downtown Fort Myers is an excellent location for an engagement session. Exploring and strolling the streets together offered so many lovely settings and views. Walking from place to place gave us time to get to know each other and connect. I don’t think we would have gotten the same results if we didn’t have these short walks to get comfortable around each other in between shots. This will make their wedding day photos even better as well!
When Brianna and Matthew were dating, they were always looking for a cool rooftop with a view to hang out on. So, of course, we had to make that happen for their engagement photos. We were both looking forward to shooting here the most, but we saved it as our last stop! Their personalities really came through and we popped some champagne and did some fun photos as the Florida sun set behind us.
